Jennifer Furtado, PT, DPT, CNT and Michael Furtado, PT, DPT, Ed.D., NCS were both honored with the College of Health Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award in the December 2023 and April 2024 commencement ceremonies respectively. Dominique Roberts: A Veteran’s Journey into Biotechnology

Dominique Roberts came to Logan University to obtain her bachelor’s degree in human biology with the goal of working in the biotechnology field. “At the time, my goal was to integrate knowledge of 3D printing with creating prosthetics specifically for the veteran community,” said Dominique. “Being a disabled veteran myself, this mission was deeply personal. Emily Hoffman knew from an early age she wanted to be a doctor. “When I was 4 years old, I lost my dad due to a ruptured aneurysm. At that young age, I decided I would be a ‘brain surgeon’ and fix all the dads so this wouldn’t happen to anyone else,” she said. After months of searching for an undergraduate degree in biology that was not overly broad, she found Logan’s Bachelor of Science in Human Biology program.
